For me, its Mark DeRosa. It meant so much to the Cubs, he was such a role model. Not only could he play any position, he could play it good. And he just scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. For the Cardinals. You will always be a Cub in my heart, Mark.
So, what player who used to play for your team will you always miss?

Reed Johnson – He was a great player, who always played hard and hustled, and I it was hard to see him leave first.
Scott Rolen- Another great player, who played hard, and played the game with respect.
I have 2 Favorite Teams:
Royals- Mike Sweeney. Up until 2 years ago he was a lifetime Royal. He was not only part of the Royals but the Royals were part of him. He was always family first, a lot of people say they are Family first but he lived it. He still hold numerous Royals batting records, and he will always be a Royal. When times got tough in Kansas City, guys Like Johnny Damon, Jermain Dye, Carlos Beltran, Joe Randa, and Jeff Suppan hit the road. But Mike stayed, he was the Heart and Soul of the Royals whether they were winning or they were losing. After the decision was made for him to sign the the Athletics, he took out a full page add in the Kansas City Star to thank his fans. Hopefully one day the Hall of Fame will Recognize his accomplishments.
Cubs- Mark DeRosa meant a lot, but I am going to go a different direction. I am going to say Kerry Wood. Though much of his Time in Chicago was plagued by Injury, he was one of the Top in the NL when he was Healthy. In my mind he will always remembered for one game in particular. in his fifth career start, on May 6, 1998, he threw a one-hit, no walk, 20-strikeout shutout against the Houston Astros. He will always be a Cub, he even won 2 games for the Cubbies while wearin an Indians Jersey…
Sorry Helen, but I’m laying claim to Jim Thome on this one. He began his career with my hometown Cleveland Indians and is still the team’s career Home Run champ. (I remember when my younger brother told me it would not be Thome but Manny Ramirez who got that title)
Also Thome met his wife here and still has a home in one of the suburbs in this area. Any Tribe fan worth their salt has respect for Jimmy as a player and a man.
Past player: Jeff Kent, always a great Giant that brought us Giants many great years.
Future player: Tim Alderson, a pitcher the Giants traded to the Pirates this year for Freddy Sanchez. I was really hoping the Giants didn’t have to trade away Alderson, but what’s done is done. I hope the best for Alderson and hope he turns out to be a great pitcher.
Luis Gonzalez for the Diamondbacks. What a great player, nice guy, and World Series Hero. Once you win the World Series for your team, no one will let you go. I will always miss him, that one-of-a-kind player. At least he’s doing something with the team now, just sadly not playing with them.
Go Gonzo!!!!!
Paul Molitor, it’s been a long time and I was only a teenager, but when he left to play for the Blue Jays I was crushed. He’s the player most responsible for making me a Brewers fan. Outside of family.
I miss Geoff Jenkins though too, he was like a staple at Miller Park.
There are a lot, but the one I will remember the most is not about playing ability. Jose Valentin. He was the player who gave me my first autograph. I was so excited that day, having waited so long! Even though I could say Joe Crede, Frank Thomas, Carlos Lee, or Aaron Row and, I know that I will always remember him most.
Probably Scott Rolen or Jim Edmonds from the St. Louis Cardinals. Scott was a solid third baseman and supplied power in the batting order. As for Jim, he was unbelievable in the outfield and also had alot of pop in his bat.
my favorite are the angels, but i have no real ”favorite player” because im more of a basketball fan, but i do miss a person in the dodgers named bob welch. ive actually met him in real life.
