go to community college with a baseball team, try out. if ur any good they’ll take you. then work ur way up though the ranks to the pros. two years there, then a four year college or maybe a minor team would give you a shot. talk to a local minor league team and try to get a try out, or find out when the pros are having a combine. u need to get exposure. my brother plays community college ball and the KC Royals have talked to him about minor league. give it a shot.
try out for NBDL or other minor basketball league, or send in your tapes to a any local college and see if you can make a team.
i dont know
start at a community college that has a baseball team. if you’re good, someone at a big university will know and get you to transfer there and that is where you could get noticed for big-timers!
but ya gotta keep the grades decent.
Ilove mr. curious’ answer, yeah, i’d work on that spelling first, it is painfully obvious that you didn’t finish h.s. or at least you were missing on spelling day.
Well you have the spelling requirement already mastered. Now just work on fathering children out of wedlock and you are a shoe-in.
No Problem. As a pitcher you need to have about 5 pitches.
Fastball, slider, sinker, changeup. Easy. You have to throw your fastball in the mid 90’s at about 75% accuracy. That means that you need to throw 3 out of every 4 pitches for a strike. As a hitter, in batting practice, you need to be able to hit every second pitch out of the ground. And as a fielder, you need to have a fielding percentage above .900 for the infield and above .980 in the outfield. You also need to be taller than 6′2″ and be able to run 100 meters in about 11.5 seconds. If you can’t do all that – there are about 10,000 other guys that can – so you better go back to dreaming about being a professional ball player.
Being “one of the best players in your school” might not be good enough. Such a small percentage of players ever actually play pro ball. You need to be one of the best in your region. All teams hold try-out camps. You can research online to see where and when they are held. The odds of getting signed are REAL slim, but you never know unless you try.
