I don't have a great answer for this, but my favorite is David Weathers (journeyman middle reliever, currently with the Reds) because he and I went to high school together. I'm originally from a town of 1,800 people, so needless to say, we haven't produced a lot of people who have World Series rings. He's nice, modest, and still lives in that same town we grew up in. He just happens to have the biggest house now.

For me, its Mark DeRosa. It meant so much to the Cubs, he was such a role model. Not only could he play any position, he could play it good. And he just scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. For the Cardinals. You will always be a Cub in my heart, Mark.
So, what player who used to play for your team will you always miss?

Yankees fans i know always say that they don't and give examples of a few small budget teams that compete. But think about it, the same small budget teams don't compete every year, but the big budget teams do every year because they can by the best players available. They don't earn the playoffs by good farm teams, like the Rockies last year. They by themselves playoff berths.

My vote would go for the Chicago Cubs fans as they constantly say "This could be the year", and without fail they keep right on loosing. Up to 100 years now without a World Series win. No other professional sports team in the world has a losing streak at 100 years long. And the funny thing is, not only does the team stink real bad but they keep selling out the stadium. The owners have no incentive to change anything to insure a winning season. Why should they? The team makes money.

Things have been looking good with the Yankees lately, and they are suddenly hovering at a two to three game lead. I can certainly imagine them being able to maintain that for awhile, but what do you think is going to happen when you have to play the Red Sox again head to head? It has been pretty much established this year that the Sox have your number and each one of those losses will be a full game swing in the standings. That will chew your lead up and spit it out.

I am a Phillies fan, watching the Mets/Yankess game right now because I love baseball. I will assume Bronx people are generally Yankees fans and Queens residents are Mets fans. Are Brooklyn people Mets fans because of the old rivalry in the Dodgers/Yankees days ?
Thanks ahead of time for the input.

I think the Giants Pablo Sandoval will have a great year because he continued to put up big numbers in winterball.

I think it's Sadaharu. You can say all you want. That Japanese baseball is different, they see the same pitchers more often, smaller stadiums, etc. But this guy was a great player.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sadaharu_Oh
